We are now seeking a unit manager for the Medical Technology Unit. One of TLV's responsibilities is to conduct health economic assessments for medical technology products. As part of this mission, we work closely with Sweden's regions to achieve equitable, cost-effective, and appropriate use of new medical technology products. We conduct health economic assessments, horizon scanning, and feasibility studies. We also participate in various international forums and projects. We work cross-functionally in working groups with medical researchers, health economists, and lawyers in our investigative work. The unit is located in the Value-Based Pricing Department and currently consists of 8 employees. The department is responsible for handling matters concerning price and subsidy for medicines and consumables. The department also includes three units for matters related to medicines and one legal unit. Responsibilities Your responsibilities as unit manager include leading, planning, and monitoring the unit's operations so that it is conducted efficiently and with quality assurance toward operational goals. You have operational, budget, and personnel responsibility for the unit. You work with both strategic and operational issues at the unit level. You exercise a developmental, coaching, and engaging leadership style, where you work in close communication with employees to plan, develop, and streamline operations. You contribute to creating a positive work environment that encourages collaboration and creativity. You coordinate and take responsibility for your part of the operations in collaboration with other units and departments, based on TLV's overarching vision, goals, and strategies. You understand the substantive matters for which the unit and the agency are responsible and feel a strong sense of responsibility for the implementation of operations. You have a well-developed network within your area of operations and can independently represent the agency in external contexts. As a unit manager, you need to have good dialogue skills and good relationships with authorities, regions, companies, and other stakeholders such as patient and service user organizations. You are part of the department's management team and contribute to developing the work environment and case flows and processes within the department. Based on the needs of the unit and department, you both lead and personally participate operatively in various projects. As a leader at TLV, you are expected to be a clear representative of our leadership philosophy based on trust, courage, and simplicity. You are part of the unit's management team and actively participate in strategic work and the unit's long-term improvement efforts. Qualifications The work places high demands on leadership ability and the ability to make strategic assessments as well as link them to implementation in operations. We are looking for someone who has relevant academic degree, for example in medicine or economics leadership experience with personnel and budget responsibility as well as operational follow-up good knowledge of some of TLV's areas of operations experience working with medical technology or otherwise acquiring understanding of the conditions in the medical technology field experience collaborating with regions within the health and medical care sector good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in both Swedish and English It is meritable if you have current experience from work in knowledge of or experience leading an expert organization As a person, you are confident in yourself and your leadership, with a leadership style where, among other things, employees' work environment is an important part. You have the ability to make decisions from a holistic perspective, are a good strategist, and work persistently with ideas moving forward. You have very good collaboration skills and resolve conflicts, if they arise, in a responsive way. You have the ability to constructively implement and consider others' views and perspectives. You are empathetic and attentive, and your communication skills are high. Furthermore, you have a strong interest in society and are motivated by contributing to realizing our vision. It is important that you thrive in an environment where your longer-term and strategic work is combined with case handling with short delivery times. Employment Terms Permanent full-time employment beginning with a six-month probationary period. Start date by agreement.
