You will lead a work group with high competence and strong commitment in a workplace where participation, collaboration, and development are central. Your Workplace Southern Region at the Swedish Migration Agency is one of the authority's three regions. The region encompasses Norrköping, Malmö, Växjö, Åstorp, Ljungbyhed and consists of 6 sections and an office. The region's operations are broad and include all types of the authority's case categories. Southern Region and Western Region together are responsible for the citizenship process. About Your Assignment As a unit manager at the Swedish Migration Agency, you will have the opportunity to lead a unit in constant development, where improvements and long-term thinking are a natural part of everyday work. The unit currently consists of approximately twenty engaged employees, and you will be an important player in the section management group. You will be part of a management group consisting of 7 unit managers, all with citizenship as their assignment, and led by the section manager. The management group works closely together with the same direction and goals. Being a team player and being able to cooperate with all types of people is therefore crucial for thriving in the role. You have full responsibility for personnel, budget, and work environment and lead your team by being present, supportive, and decisive. You identify improvement areas together with your employees, create structure and conditions for participation, and drive a culture of accountability and development. Your Competencies Leadership Ability and Personal Qualities You are present in your leadership and create participation and conditions for your employees to grow and take responsibility in an environment that inspires work joy, initiative, and efficiency. You have strong analytical ability and the ability to see the bigger picture, which enables you to make well-founded decisions even during times of change. You are confident in yourself and demonstrate good judgment, while also creating engagement and building good collaborations. Your leadership is characterized by clear direction, empathy in meeting with others, and courage in decision-making. In our work as civil servants, high demands are also placed on judgment and strong security and confidentiality awareness. We are seeking you who have: - Academic education of at least 120 hp in a relevant field or other education combined with current and relevant experience for the role - Leadership experience within public operations - At least one year of management experience with responsibility for budget, personnel, and work environment - Good knowledge and express yourself well orally and in writing in Swedish and English - Swedish citizenship It is meritorious if you have: - Management experience from state operations - Experience leading and developing operations in change with good operational results - Knowledge in administrative law and experience with administrative law case handling - Experience working in assessment operations Security vetting with background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) will be conducted. Employment is conditional on approved security vetting.
