The LSS and social psychiatry operations aim to enable an independent, active, and secure life for people with functional disabilities. The operations offer varying leisure activities, work and employment, as well as different housing options. We are in a development phase and are seeking a unit manager for the Mjölby area.

WORK DUTIES
The LSS operations area enables an independent, active, and secure life for people with functional disabilities. The operations offer activities, employment, and various housing options. The operations are governed by the LSS Act, the Act on Support and Services for People with Disabilities. The work involves taking independent responsibility for coordinating, leading, distributing, and developing the work. You are responsible for systematic workplace health and safety work and have personnel and budget responsibility for the unit. As a unit manager, you develop and ensure quality in our operations so they meet today's needs in accordance with current legislation, and are prepared to meet future challenges. You lead our knowledgeable and engaged employees in their work and have full responsibility for your operations, which includes personnel and financial management as well as operational and quality responsibility toward our citizens in Mjölby Municipality.
The operations are in a development phase with several new group homes to be built and started in the coming years. As a unit manager, you have the opportunity to be part of this development journey.
You report directly to the manager of LSS and social psychiatry operations and are part of the operational area's management group, which currently consists of 6 unit managers in total. Support functions such as finance and HR are well-established around your leadership to provide you with the best conditions for your role. You will receive management introduction and ongoing development through the municipality's leadership development program.

QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who has:
• Relevant higher education, for example as a social worker, behavioural science bachelor's degree, teaching degree, or other education that the employer deems equivalent
• Several years of experience working with people with functional disabilities
• Good knowledge of the laws governing the operations and the ability to translate politically set goals into practical action
• Good knowledge of pedagogical working methods and support methods for the area
• A B-class driving license
We consider it an asset if you have:
• Experience working as a manager with personnel responsibility
• Management experience in a politically governed organization
• Completed leadership training
• Previous experience starting new operations within LSS or other equivalent areas
• Interest in quality and development issues
• Previous experience exercising government authority
