Within the Advanced Materials and Binders unit, we focus primarily on advanced materials, battery cell manufacturing, binders, and surface chemistry. We are a large unit within RISE consisting of engaged and driven employees who all contribute their expertise. About the Role In your role as Unit Manager, you will continuously work on developing the unit and collaborate with the Department Manager. You have personnel and work environment responsibility for your unit (site responsibility may be relevant), where your coaching leadership style enables a culture that allows the team to thrive, perform, and develop. You are collaborative, attentive, trustworthy, strategic, and results-oriented, creating the right conditions for your employees to deliver value to our customers and partners. You actively work on implementing business plans and delivering operational goals. In the role, you are also responsible for driving and developing projects in the battery cell area, as well as initiating and developing new concepts and methods. You participate in and lead applications for both industry-funded and publicly-funded projects. Furthermore, you are responsible for quality assuring the unit's deliverables and contributing to the development of the business offering. You build and maintain long-term collaborations with customers, external partners, and other relevant stakeholders. The unit manager role comprises a portion of your time, and the remaining time you will work in the department's management group and contribute to the department's development. With your expertise and network, you will actively create relationships with companies and partners in the industry as well as internally within RISE. You report to the Department Manager and contribute to the unit's development through active collaboration on matters concerning projects, sales, customers, labs, and equipment. Requirements for the Role: • PhD in a field relevant to the position • Several years of work experience in the battery industry • Several years of work experience as a manager with personnel, budget, and results responsibility • Documented experience leading other managers • Experience in business development, operational development, and management group work • Experience with commercial collaborations with industrial customers • Network within the battery industry • Swedish and English, spoken and written Meritorious for the Role: • Experience creating and driving larger research projects • Ability to drive business processes for commercializing research results • International work experience is especially meritorious • Experience planning for and building up laboratories and pilot infrastructure Are We Right for Each Other?
