The Social Services Administration Center is now seeking a unit manager who wants to continue developing the regulatory activities for children and youth in Center. The position becomes available as the current manager moves on to a new assignment with the employer. About the assignment As a unit manager, you will drive, in close collaboration with the department manager, business developer, and management colleagues, the development of social services for children, youth, and families in Center. The work is based on our common vision: an equitable and effective social service with a focus on early interventions for a more equal city. The administration also has a goal and direction to increase the time we spend meeting children, families, and their networks - meet the person more! The business operates based on Signs of Safety as an approach. The department serves children and youth aged 0–20 years and their families. It currently consists of three investigation units, a joint reception, a foster care unit with two managers, and a resource activity with two managers. Business developers are also attached to the department to support our common quality and development work. You will be the unit manager for one of our three investigation units. The unit's main task is to investigate, decide on, and follow up on interventions according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Act on Special Provisions Regarding Care of Young People (LVU). In the role, you will have personnel responsibility for a dedicated work group. The group consists of 15 employees and three senior social secretaries. In addition, you are responsible for a team working with safety planning according to Signs of Safety. The team consists of three employees and one senior social secretary. The workplace is located on Skånegatan in central Gothenburg. In your role as unit manager, you have personnel, budget, and operational responsibility. You lead, plan, develop, and follow up on the unit's work based on set goals and plans. You are responsible for streamlining work processes, utilizing employees' competence and commitment, and further developing collaboration both internally and externally. You also represent the business in various collaboration groups and forums. You have independent responsibility for the unit based on assignments from the department manager and are expected to place your own operations in a larger context. Qualifications We are looking for someone who has a degree in social work. To succeed in the role, you need to have previous experience from social services regulatory activities and the children and youth area. You have several years of documented experience working as a leader and/or manager. You are well-grounded in the legislation of the field. We particularly value if you have training and experience in Signs of Safety. Leadership training and knowledge of and experience with occupational health and safety matters are particularly advantageous. As a unit manager with us, it is important that you have knowledge and understanding of what it means to work in a politically governed organization and work toward the goals set by politics. To succeed in the role, you should be analytical and structured. You have good ability to work goal- and results-oriented to develop and drive the unit forward.
