We need a unit manager for our Infrastructure Department within urban development – do you want to help shape the future of Nacka?
Nacka Municipality is one of Sweden's most expansive municipalities where sustainable societal development, efficient management of economic resources, innovation, and quality are in focus. The Infrastructure Department is responsible for the design, procurement, and expansion of the municipality's public infrastructure such as roads and utility systems. We build infrastructure that will be owned and managed by the municipality and also contribute to external projects in the urban development process.
Now we are looking for a structured and driven unit manager for the Infrastructure Department within the urban development process.
Your Assignment
As a unit manager, you have a central role in developing our working methods and processes for infrastructure. You are part of the urban development director's management group and lead your own management group with an assistant infrastructure manager and 3 group managers. Within given frameworks and in line with the municipality's goals, you are responsible for leading, coordinating, and driving the department's work from planning, design to implementation and handover to operations.
The urban development process consists of 4 departments. The Department for Strategic Urban Development, the Planning Department, the Development Department, and the Infrastructure Department.
Your Main Areas of Responsibility
Personnel responsibility, responsible for resource planning, salary setting, competence development, recruitment, and working environment
Responsible for driving operational development both within your own department and together with other departments in the municipality
Part of the urban development director's management group and steering group
Responsible for the department's operational budget
Responsible for sub-project finances (infrastructure). Unit Manager for Infrastructure has primary responsibility for the budget in implementation projects
Unit Manager Infrastructure decides on implementation agreements with infrastructure owners and raises matters to the urban development steering group led by the urban development director. Unit Manager Infrastructure serves as representative in cases where this responsibility cannot be placed on a group manager
These are the qualifications we are looking for in you
We are looking for someone who is structured, organized, communicative, and confident in your role as a leader. You thrive in a complex operation where you easily switch between planned tasks and event-driven situations.
With perseverance and thoroughness, you drive the department's operations forward in close collaboration with other departments in the municipality and external parties. You have the ability to see the big picture and understand your role in the larger context. You have high moral and ethical standards based on leading an operation within the public sector. You work in a structured manner and find it easy to prioritize, which is crucial when you lead an operation that drives many and complex projects in close proximity to Nacka Municipality's citizens.
Requirements
University/college degree in civil engineering, infrastructure, or equivalent
Experience from a similar role and experience working with larger infrastructure projects
Experience as a manager of managers
Documented experience in project management with at least 10 years of experience
Experience in design and production
Good knowledge in financial management, financial follow-up, reporting, and project administration
Experience with LOU and application of AMA Infrastructure, MER Infrastructure, AB04/ABT06, ABK09
Documented knowledge in occupational health and safety, procurement, contract law, and industry regulations
B-category driver's license
Merits
Extensive experience with complex infrastructure projects (10+ years)
Experience from state or municipal operations
