About the role
As a unit manager for park maintenance, you have overall responsibility for leading, planning, and developing the operations that manage the city's parks, green spaces, and public outdoor environments. The role involves comprehensive responsibility where you ensure that operations are conducted efficiently, with high quality, and in accordance with applicable laws, guidelines, and agreements.
You are responsible for budget, personnel, and work environment, and actively work to optimize resource use to achieve financial goals, high-quality delivery, and engaged employees.
In daily work, you lead a team of approximately 25 employees and are responsible for seasonal and summer staff, which requires close, clear, and structured leadership. The unit also consists of 2 coordinators who have a supervisory function and serve as support to the unit manager. You create good conditions for operations and ensure stable and secure management of parks and green areas.
The role involves a combination of strategic and operational work. You switch between driving long-term development of the city's park and green structure and ensuring that daily operations function efficiently. You also work closely with internal and external stakeholders, such as other departments, contractors, organizations, and residents.
As part of the Urban Maintenance management group, you have an important role in operations development. You contribute to strategic issues, drive improvement work, and participate in urban development processes and development projects. You receive support from coordinators within the operations. In this role, you report to the Urban Maintenance operations manager and are part of the Urban Maintenance management group. You work from our office at Skedebrogatan and on-call duty may occur.
Your profile
For the role of unit manager for park maintenance, we seek a confident and engaged leader who can combine clear leadership with good understanding of operation and development of outdoor environments.
You have relevant higher education or equivalent, as assessed by the employer as equivalent.
To succeed in this role, we see that you have documented management experience with responsibility for operations, personnel, and finances. You have experience with operation, maintenance, or development of parks and outdoor environments, and experience leading through others, such as employees or contractors.
You have good knowledge of work environment management and experience with contract management and procurement control. You also have good ability to work structurally with budget, follow-up, and resource planning.
As a leader, you are clear, communicative, and unpretentious. You create engagement and participation through present leadership and build trusting relationships both internally and externally. You have the ability to set direction, make decisions, and drive development in a structured manner.
Since the position involves continuous dialogue with employees, colleagues, and external parties, it is important that you express yourself well in Swedish in both speech and writing.
It is meritorious if you have experience from municipal operations or public administration, as well as knowledge of sustainability work, green planning, or urban development.

The City Services Department has an important and exciting mission to deliver, coordinate, and develop services for residents and departments in Mölndal Municipality. The department has approximately 550 employees and is organized into four operational areas: meals and facility services, water and recycling, urban maintenance, and staff and customer services.
Within urban maintenance, approximately 150 employees work with operation, maintenance, and development of the municipality's public environments - from real estate and streets to parks and green spaces. Together we contribute to a clean, safe, and pleasant city for both residents and visitors.
