What We Do and Believe The Care for Persons with Disabilities department is responsible for service operations within the disability sector, including daily activities, residential services, and short-term housing for children. We work to provide support and services to people with various disabilities so they can live like everyone else and become as independent as possible. Our work is based on the Support and Service Act (LSS). Our motto is "Safe operations with the user in focus" The department is led by a department manager and consists of: six unit managers for residential services, two unit managers for daily activities, one handler for short-term interventions, one activity developer, one administrator, one placement coordinator. The department is highly engaged in its work, supports each other, takes a solution-focused approach, and works toward a clear vision. The Care for Persons with Disabilities department is part of the Senior and Care Administration, which is responsible for caring for elderly and disabled persons in Tyresö Municipality. The administration handles both authority functions and service operations. About the Position The unit manager will be responsible for a residential unit consisting of two group homes. The unit's staffing is tailored to the residents' needs, and the work team consists of approximately 15-20 permanent support assistants and support pedagogues, plus several part-time staff. The unit works to provide support and services to people with various disabilities so they can become as independent as possible. The unit manager is responsible for staff, budget, and operations. This includes: Planning, leading, and developing operations based on structured methods and proven practices. Collaborating with staff and others to ensure a good work environment and a balanced budget. Leading change initiatives regarding quality and digitalization. Promoting and advocating for the support assistant profession to encourage more training in the field. Supporting colleagues regarding alternative communication aids to communicate with users based on their abilities. The unit manager is part of the leadership team for the Care for Persons with Disabilities department. Everyone contributes to development and achieving our shared goals. This is a permanent full-time position. Who Are You? We are looking for someone with a 3-year higher education qualification relevant to the field (for example, pedagogy, social work, or behavioral science) and who has completed one or more courses in LSS with passing grades at the university level. You have solid knowledge of both the LSS target group and LSS legislation, and have previously worked as a supervisor for at least one year within LSS operations. Furthermore, you have at least one year of management experience with staff, budget, and operational responsibility. Of course, you are computer-literate and have a good ability to express yourself in Swedish both verbally and in writing. Great importance is placed on your personal qualities that enable you to create a good collaborative climate and inspire, motivate, and engage your colleagues. As a person, you are confident, independent, and action-oriented. You have a strong ability to cooperate both internally and externally in a professional manner. Furthermore, you plan, organize, and prioritize your work efficiently. As a person, you are mature, relationship-building, and empathetic with good collaboration skills. You are clear and structured in your leadership and can handle strategic tasks. These qualities are needed to successfully move the operations forward.
