The Social Services Administration is responsible for public authority functions, commissioning services, and operations within individual and family care, LSS (disability services), and social psychiatry. Your Responsibilities As Head of Communications, you will be responsible for managing a team of two employees and have full personnel, budget, and operational responsibility. You will work both strategically and operationally with the administration's communications, where you are expected to actively contribute to developing cross-departmental communications. Your responsibilities include coordinating, planning, implementing, and following up communications initiatives in collaboration with relevant functions, as well as creating effective and relevant internal and external communications. You are responsible for the administration's overall communication strategy, which is based on the administration's mission and target audiences. In this role, you will provide support and advice on cross-departmental communication matters such as campaigns and other communication activities. You manage media relations and guide journalists to the right parts of the organization, while providing supportive guidance to municipal employees. When needed, you serve as coordinating editorial support. Your assignment also includes handling rapidly emerging communication needs in cases such as crises. You work independently on certain tasks while collaborating with other departments in the municipality on others. Your work also includes producing and publishing texts and other content on digital channels and social media. You represent the administration in joint forums and networks connected to the municipality's communications activities. Your Workplace The Social Services Administration employs approximately 1,500 people with about 60 managers. The Communications Unit is part of operational support reporting directly to the Head of Administration. In this role, you are part of the administration's management group and represent the administration in the municipality-wide management forum for communications, which is led by the Director of Communications. The Social Services Administration's Communications Unit is located in central Linköping. About You We seek someone with university education in communications and media, or alternatively other post-secondary education or equivalent competence as assessed by the employer. We are looking for several years of experience working as a communicator, communication strategist, or similar role. You need strong experience with strategic communication work and experience producing texts and other content for publication on digital channels and social media. Strong Swedish language skills are required as you will independently produce various types of content for different channels. We consider it advantageous if you have previous management experience or have worked in a supervisory role, as well as experience working in a politically governed organization. We also view as advantageous experience in crisis communications and media relations, experience producing web content, and experience in project management. It is a significant plus if you have experience in graphic design. Your leadership is characterized by professionalism and change management.
