About us IT Development is part of IT & Office Services, together with the IT Service Desk, IT Operations, and Facility Management units. The unit is responsible for continuously developing a modern, stable, and cohesive IT environment that meets the municipality's technical requirements, supports operational needs, and creates the conditions for them to act as part of a whole. The unit currently consists of 10 employees and operates from our office in central Upplands Väsby, with flexibility to work remotely. As a unit manager, it is important that you can travel to the office and to operations as needed. About the position As IT Development Unit Manager, you are responsible for leading the unit's work based on development and coordination. The unit consists of a development team with expertise in integrations, digital support, and solutions that connect operations. The team creates the conditions for automation and strengthens data-driven decision-making by making data accessible, structured, and useful. The unit also includes coordination and structured management of the municipality's foundational IT infrastructure. The team is responsible for a comprehensive IT architecture, a clear overall picture, and ensuring that the municipality's development moves in a unified direction. You are a trustworthy person who takes responsibility for operations, budget, personnel, and work environment. With a trust-based leadership approach, you lead, delegate, and follow up on work within the unit and communicate clear expectations. You motivate and develop employees and are responsible for the unit's competency supply. This includes conducting recruitment as well as employee and salary discussions. You will be responsible for driving sustainable IT development and ensuring that our changes align with this. You act as an ambassador for us as a support function in contact and collaboration with both internal and external parties. Together with three management colleagues, you are part of the management team within Office Services. Here, you are expected to contribute to the department's overall development work and act with the team before yourself by initiating and participating in collaboration. The management team is led by the Department Manager for IT & Office Services, who is also your direct manager. A background check will be conducted on the final candidate before employment. Are you the one we're looking for: We are looking for someone who has: Relevant education for the position combined with work experience Experience working with IT development, management, and IT architecture Strong administrative abilities, with experience in planning, budgeting, follow-up, and documentation Experience working as a manager and leader in the public sector Experience with budget responsibility and results follow-up Experience with procurement and public procurement regulations Good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing It is meritorious if you have: Experience working according to Pm3 As a unit manager, you need the ability to plan and organize work systematically and efficiently.
