Work Tasks The Projects and Investment Department implements new construction, renovation and maintenance projects to meet the city's needs for schools, preschools, retirement homes and accommodations with special services. The department is in an expansive phase and is planning an annual project volume of up to three billion kronor. Together with other departments, we create conditions for a competitive, attractive and sustainably developed city. We are now taking the next step in our development and moving into Traktören on Köpmansgatan in central Gothenburg – modern, newly renovated facilities that create good conditions for collaboration, development and close management. Here several of the city's urban development departments gather under one roof, which provides excellent opportunities for cooperation and knowledge exchange for Gothenburg's continued development. We are looking for a unit manager for Installation Project Management, organizationally placed within the Business Area Housing and Strategic Properties but with an overarching mandate towards all tenants. The unit focuses on site and installations, including projects and assignments within plumbing, electrical, control and site work. Here specialist project managers work and follow up projects through the entire process or as sub-project managers in larger projects. As a unit manager, you lead and develop the business together with your employees and create conditions for successful projects, good collaboration and a sustainable work environment. The role includes: Having personnel, work environment and budget responsibility for the unit Creating conditions for a good, sustainable and healthy work environment Managing the business within established financial frameworks and towards set goals Owning responsibility for projects and assignments Being a client representative in matters concerning contract and consulting services Following up and developing processes and completed projects Participating in the business area's management group and the department's management team Responding for the unit's communication and environmental monitoring Collaborating with other departments in connection with project implementation Together with the unit, translating the business's goals into clear and traceable activities Qualifications We are looking for someone with higher education or university education of at least 180 credits in civil engineering or another comparable field. For the position, you must have: Experience with personnel, work environment and budget responsibility Experience with culture and values-based work Experience with a development and process-oriented working approach Experience leading leaders or specialists Experience with change management and leading through change Experience with financial management in projects Relevant experience from the civil engineering sector and its various phases, including construction project management Good knowledge of contract law Good knowledge of construction site safety Good knowledge of public procurement regulations (LOU) Knowledge of union collaboration and work environment legislation It is advantageous if you have: Completed leadership training or have experience with developmental leadership Experience with projects in installations, site work and/or civil contingency Experience with project management and project management methodology Experience working in public sector operations or politically governed organizations We are looking for you who are an engaged and coaching leader with good communication skills.
