As a unit manager in the Finance Department, you will lead an operation that plays a central role in the administration's work with sound financial management and accurate results. The Finance Department is responsible for ensuring quality and development within financial processes such as accounting, budgeting, forecasting, analysis, monitoring, and internal controls. In this role, you are responsible for leading and developing the unit's employees, working methods, and processes. Together with other managers in the Finance Department, you work to create a finance function that supports the administration. You are part of the Finance Department's management group and are expected to contribute to the department's overall development and the administration's overarching goals. You are the process owner for the administration's accounting. Your Responsibilities The assignment includes, among other things: Lead, develop, and follow up on the unit's operations and employees. Process responsibility for accounting. Ensure high quality in accounting and other financial processes. Contribute to the administration achieving balanced finances and sustainable long-term financial development. Ensure that financial information is correct, accurate, and complies with laws, recommendations, and municipal guidelines. Drive development of working methods, processes, and internal controls within the financial area. Work to foster collaboration between units in financial processes within the department. About You We are looking for someone with a college degree in economics or equivalent education. You have at least several years of experience in qualified financial work and are confident and knowledgeable in financial processes. It is advantageous if you have experience from public sector operations and good knowledge of municipal finances and accounting. We would appreciate if you have previous experience as a manager or in another leadership role, but it is not required for the position. You create engagement, participation, and good conditions for your employees and the administration. In your role as a manager, you are attentive and open to understanding other people's needs and show respect, consideration, and care in your interactions. You have a holistic perspective, strong analytical ability, and can translate complex information into your daily work. As a unit manager with us, you are both operational and strategic.
