The Children and Family Business Area is part of the Social Services sector and is divided into three units with four unit managers: Prevention and Service, Investigation and Protection, and Family Support and Foster Care. The Prevention and Service Unit consists of 20 experienced and highly competent employees, including one senior social secretary. The unit is distributed across three family counselors for three Family Centers, family therapists, and six field secretaries, an integration coordinator, and a Presence Team. Your Assignment As unit manager for the Prevention and Service unit within the Children and Youth Business Area, you will have a central role in developing preventive work within the social services' children and youth activities in accordance with the intention of the new Social Services Act (SoL). Your assignment will be to further develop Measures Without Needs Assessment (IUB) so that early interventions make a difference before needs become greater. Furthermore, you should build and actively seek collaborations with partners important to the target group, such as schools, healthcare, police, and leisure services. You are a representative for the entire Children and Family Business Area within social services in the collaboration groups you will be part of. This is a leadership assignment where you combine strategic development with operational management. You have a key role in the transition to the new Social Services Act and will be an inspiring face toward the municipality's many collaboration partners. You need to constructively respond to both expectations and demands from others regarding service availability and working methods. As a unit manager with us, you are an important team player for the entire Social Services sector and we work together to create the future's sustainable social services. You are expected to drive development and improvement work with great commitment by thinking new and trying new ways of working together with your employees. You communicate goals, direction, and create participation in the work by encouraging and utilizing good ideas. As a unit manager, you are responsible for the operations and their development, personnel, work environment, and budget, and you lead your employees with confidence and trust. The position places high demands on collaboration with others, both within the municipality and with external actors, always with the best interests of children and young people in focus. You will be offered a good introduction and management training as a newly employed manager in our municipality. This is What the Position Requires · You are a social worker or have other university education that the employer deems suitable for the position · You have current experience with preventive work with children and young people within social services · You have extensive experience with management within social services To be employed, an extract from the Police's criminal record register and certificates of study from a college or university must be presented.
