The Department of Lifelong Learning is Kumla Municipality's largest department with approximately 900 employees. WORK DUTIES As unit manager for central administration, your mission is to lead and distribute work for two case officers and three administrative staff, as well as coordinate work for case officers and administrative staff at our preschools and schools. The department has staffing that provides short-term temporary staff to our operations as needed. You are also responsible for the temporary staff in this arrangement. The position includes operational, financial, personnel, and work environment responsibility. The central administration is responsible for handling the department's public administration functions. This includes managing school choice, preschool placements, school transportation applications, and various other administrative tasks. In your role, you create favorable conditions for development and lawful case handling. Other work duties in the administrative group include handling appeals, monitoring inter-municipal costs and revenues, and invoice management. The position is placed at the central administration level with the department director as your immediate manager, and you are part of the department's management team. In addition to the administrative team, the administrative office also employs operations managers, board secretaries, investigators, operations developers, and an ICT educator. QUALIFICATIONS To succeed in this assignment, you have a relevant university or college degree and several years of experience in qualified administrative work, preferably in public administration or education. You also have good knowledge of public records and confidentiality legislation, IT, Microsoft Office Suite, and experience with financial management. We would like you to have previous experience as a manager or leader with personnel responsibility. Experience with IST, Infomentor, or similar systems, as well as knowledge of the Education Act, is a plus. We are looking for someone who is goal-oriented, solution-focused, and structured. You can quickly understand processes and have the ability to look ahead and prioritize efficiently based on the department's needs. As a leader, you foster engagement and participation, and you believe it is important that your employees develop and take responsibility.
