Our Operations
Social services in Värmdö Municipality develops individual and family care. We do this, among other things, by strengthening close leadership and by creating conditions for leading holistically based on a cohesive social services structure. We also do this by digitalizing and automating various processes to create more space for value-creating time with our residents.
Unit Managers report directly to the Department Head. In addition to managers, there are coordinators, administrative support, and access to development leaders. In total, there are approximately 100 employees within the department, which consists of the Unit for Adults, the Unit for Support and Services, the Unit for Children and Families, the Unit for Financial Assistance, and the Unit for Labor Market.
Your Assignment
As a Unit Manager, you are part of the management group together with other Unit Managers and the Department Head.
In your management role, you contribute to making Värmdö Municipality an attractive employer. Elected officials, managers, and employees should be given the best possible conditions to create a shared culture that inspires courage, openness, and commitment. Your drive should contribute to an organization in constant development with clear and mature leadership that enables continuous improvements. You are expected to deliver according to the targets set in the business plan.
Your Experience
• You have a social work degree and extensive experience in management positions and social work within public administration for children and adults
• To be able to challenge and lead in an organization with a high pace of change, it is important to focus on a cohesive social services structure. You should tackle and manage new challenges and work methods, as well as lead employees in a seamless organization.
• You have a high degree of curiosity and receptiveness toward digital work methods and a belief that this leads to improvements for those we serve – our residents.
• You have a sense of cost-effectiveness and good stewardship of taxpayer funds, as well as the ability to tackle the challenge of making financial decisions.
• You feel secure in your role as a manager and have an interest in and knowledge of workplace environment issues.
• You have good knowledge of the Social Services Act, LVU, LVM, and other laws governing municipal operations
• You have experience working in a politically governed organization/knowledge and familiarity with municipal decision-making processes.
