Workplace Description The National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people and adults with substance abuse issues. We provide this care at specialized youth homes and LVM facilities throughout the country. SiS also manages closed youth care and finances research to develop care and treatment. Regardless of where you work in our organization or what position you hold, you help create vital change. SiS youth home Bärby, located outside Uppsala, admits non-school-age boys with psychosocial difficulties, criminal and substance abuse issues, sexually inappropriate behaviors, and boys requiring special supervision. The institution also has an admission and needs assessment unit. We now want to strengthen the institution with a dedicated nurse. The institution operates through a central quality unit with treatment coordinators and a health care organization consisting of nurses, psychologists, and consultant physicians. Organizationally, the nurse reports to the quality director and has significant responsibility and influence over the young people's health care needs. Job Description As a nurse at SiS youth home Bärby, you collaborate with other professionals in an important societal mission contributing to change. You are a support function for treatment staff regarding questions related to the young people's health care needs. Your main responsibilities and work areas include medication management, health assessments, nursing interventions, and coordination with both internal and external parties regarding health care in connection with admission, during care, and before discharge or transfer within SiS, as well as participating in the student health team. Qualifications Licensed nurse with some years of experience. Experience with documentation and medical record writing Good knowledge of the Swedish language Particularly relevant experience is work with young people in psychiatry, substance abuse, or student health. It is important that you have an interest in working with young people with behavioral difficulties and that you are skilled at establishing cooperation with both young people and staff. You need good ability to plan and organize your work and the ability to prioritize based on emerging needs. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. We are looking for someone with high personal maturity, who is secure and stable. You communicate clearly, are attentive and affirming in your interactions with young people. You are able to build alliances and create cooperation with young people with challenging behaviors, and can help young people feel trust and confidence in you.
