Do you want to make a real difference for students in a school where the whole person is at the center? We are an independent Waldorf school and are now seeking a secure, initiative-taking and committed student and class assistant for the intermediate grades and after-school program. With us, theoretical learning, artistic creation, practical work, movement and nature experiences come together in a cohesive school day. The role also includes a special responsibility for supporting a student with diabetes-related self-care according to an established plan and the school's procedures. About Our School and Pedagogy Rudolf Steiner School in Norrköping was founded in 1975. Today the school serves approximately 230 students from preschool through grade 9. We are an idea-driven, independent, non-profit school and one of approximately 1000 Waldorf schools around the world. As an independent Waldorf school, we combine our national mission with Waldorf pedagogy's holistic view of child development. Teaching is characterized by clear rhythm, continuity, depth and close relationships. We strive for a good balance between academic subjects, artistic expression, crafts, movement and practical learning. Our goal is to strengthen students' curiosity, wonder, creativity, judgment, independence and desire to learn. You don't need to have worked at a Waldorf school before, but we want you to be curious about the pedagogy and willing to actively contribute to its values and methods. About the Position As a student and class assistant, you are an important part of the team and contribute to both security and pedagogical quality. During the school day, you support students' learning, independence and social development in close collaboration with the class teacher and other educators. You help create the calm rhythm, clear structure and caring environment that characterizes our daily life. During breaks, you engage students and invite them to play, movement and activities in our exceptionally large and green schoolyard. After the school day ends, you participate in the after-school program and contribute to meaningful activities with space for creativity, rest, practical work, free play and community. Job Responsibilities · Support individual students and student groups in instruction based on the teacher's planning and Waldorf pedagogy methods. · Create structure, clarity, rhythm and study calm, and encourage students' participation, creativity and responsibility. · Participate in theoretical, artistic, practical and movement-based activities during the school day. · Be present during breaks, transitions, meals, field trips and other group activities. · Plan and implement activities in the after-school program together with colleagues, with particular space for free play, creativity, crafts, nature and movement. · Prevent and handle situations that may arise in the student group in a calm, respectful and professional manner. · Work closely with the class teacher, after-school staff, student support services, guardians and others involved. · Document and follow up on relevant interventions and take administrative measures according to school procedures. Special Responsibility for Diabetes-Related Self-Care The position includes being one of the responsible staff members regarding a student with diabetes. The task is performed according to the student's individual self-care assessment and self-care plan and the school's established procedures. You will receive the introduction and training required before you assume responsibility for these tasks. · Be attentive to the student's general condition and signs of low or high blood sugar. · Provide support with blood sugar monitoring, meals, physical activity and other steps specified in the self-care plan. · Follow agreed-upon measures for abnormal blood sugar levels or acute situations. · Maintain ongoing contact with guardians and relevant school functions according to current procedures. · Ensure that necessary equipment and information are available during, for example, field trips and activities. We Are Looking for You If You · Have upper secondary education, preferably with a pedagogical, social or care profile. · Have experience working with children in school, after-school programs or other educational activities. · Are secure, calm, attentive and clear, and have the ability to build long-term relationships. · Can create good relationships while setting clear and respectful boundaries. · Appreciate a pedagogical environment where rhythm, continuity, storytelling, creativity, movement and practical work are important parts of learning. · Are curious about Waldorf pedagogy and want to develop your understanding of its values and methods. · Have good collaboration skills, take responsibility and can work independently when the situation requires it. · Have a good ability to follow instructions, individual plans and safety procedures. · Are a professional representative for our school. · Communicate well in Swedish, both spoken and written.
