Would you like to contribute to a sustainable, robust, and competitive Norrbotten in the midst of the energy transition?
Northern Sweden is undergoing a historic energy and societal transformation. The industry, infrastructure, and sustainable communities of the future are taking shape here – and Energikontor Norr plays an important role in contributing knowledge, collaboration, and development. We support Norrbotten's municipalities, public actors, and small and medium-sized enterprises in their energy and climate work. Through EU-funded and national development projects, we drive initiatives that strengthen the region's competitiveness, sustainability, and attractiveness. Our work takes place in close collaboration with municipalities, universities, companies, authorities, and other key stakeholders.
With us, you'll become part of an engaged and competent organization with strong team spirit, flexible workplace arrangements, and high job satisfaction. We celebrate successes, share knowledge, and take pleasure in each other's development. Energikontor Norr is certified as a Great Place to Work and maintains high employee satisfaction.
About the Energy Engineer Role
As an energy engineer with us, you'll work on current and socially important energy issues in close collaboration with municipalities, companies, public actors, and other partners. You'll participate in our projects and contribute research, analysis, technical expertise, and materials that support energy efficiency, sustainable transition, and a more robust energy system in Norrbotten.
You'll work alongside senior colleagues and have the opportunity to develop broadly within the energy field, while gaining valuable experience in project work and EU-funded development projects. For the right person, there's also the potential to grow into more project management responsibilities over time.
We're looking for someone who has recently graduated from university or college, or who has a few years of experience, and who has a strong interest in energy, technology, and societal development.
Examples of Work Tasks
Contribute technical knowledge and analysis to our energy and climate projects.
Conduct research, environmental monitoring, analyses, and compilations within the energy field.
Prepare materials, reports, presentations, and decision support for projects, municipalities, companies, and other stakeholders.
Participate in meetings, workshops, and seminars with colleagues and external partners.
Over time, and depending on your interests, take on greater responsibility in projects and project management.
We're Looking for Someone With
Relevant higher education or university degree in, for example, energy engineering, mechanical engineering with energy focus, electrical power, sustainable energy systems, or similar.
A strong interest in energy issues, energy efficiency, and energy transition.
Good analytical skills and ease in understanding new technical areas.
Ability to compile information, draw conclusions, and present results clearly.
Good communication skills and comfort collaborating with both colleagues and external stakeholders.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
Curiosity about how AI tools and digital working methods can be used for analysis, research, and more efficient project work.
A positive, unpretentious, and solution-oriented mindset.
It's a Plus If You Have
Knowledge of Norrbotten's energy system, municipalities' energy challenges, or industrial transition.
Experience as a project manager or have completed project management courses.
Experience from project work, thesis work, internships, or summer jobs in the energy field.
Familiarity with the public sector, EU projects, or externally funded projects.
Experience giving presentations, conducting workshops, or preparing reports and decision support materials.
We Offer
Developing work with exciting projects in the attractive energy sector in Norrbotten and Europe, where we work toward a sustainable future.
Flexible working hours and the opportunity to work remotely.
Wellness allowance, wellness time, and shared wellness activities.
Active workplace engagement, team activities, social gatherings, and a good work environment in pleasant premises.
A workplace with strong team spirit, short decision-making paths, and great opportunities for development.
