Job Description Randstad Digital is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer for upcoming and ongoing assignments in safety-critical software development. You will develop embedded software for high-technology control and signal systems where reliability is paramount. The role involves solving challenging technical problems and writing clean, efficient, and safety-critical code that meets the industry's highest security standards. Responsibilities Develop, design, and maintain software components in C, C++ (or Ada) for embedded real-time systems. Write software specifications and architecture documentation based on comprehensive system requirements. Conduct unit testing, static code analysis, and participate in structured code reviews. Debug and verify software on target hardware and in HIL environments (Hardware-in-the-loop). Work actively in agile teams (Scrum/SAFe) and collaborate closely with the verification and validation team (V&V) to ensure highest quality and safety. You have a good understanding of the entire development cycle for embedded systems and understand the importance of robust software design in environments where safety always comes first. As a person, you are a team player who enjoys working in an international environment and enjoys sharing your knowledge to drive the team forward. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Embedded Systems, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience. Strong knowledge of C and/or C++ and good experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and/or embedded Linux. Experience with agile development methods and modern tool chains (for example Git, Jira, Confluence, CI/CD). Fluent Swedish and English in speech and writing. High-level experience in safety-critical development (SIL3/SIL4) or functional safety standards (e.g., EN 50128 / EN 50657, ISO 26262, or DO-178C). Practical experience with testing in HIL environments and hardware-level debugging. Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet, TCP/IP, MVB).
