We are undergoing a historic transformation and facing extensive electrification of society. One way we are doing this is by increasing our investments in our electricity grid. To accomplish this, we need more engaged employees in the Facility Investments unit who work on our investment projects in local and regional networks. As a senior electrical power engineer in substation technology, you will be one of our technical experts and an important specialist resource in some of the largest investments in the Swedish transmission and distribution network. This role is suitable for you if you have several years of experience with substations and power installations and want to influence technical solutions from design to commissioning. The Project Technology Substations department is responsible for ensuring technical content in planning and execution of facility investments and delivers specialized technical expertise to the business. With a focus on technology, we are involved in developing practical solutions to technical challenges in operations, development, and facility construction. Your main responsibility will be to provide specialist expertise to the investment operations, which means acting as a technical specialist and advisor on complex investment projects, as well as contributing expert knowledge in technical decisions, risk assessments, and facility design. Your work tasks include: - Ensuring the quality of new facilities and that facility design is optimal - Participating in bid evaluations regarding the station's technical functions - Reviewing technical design and verifying implementation during factory testing - Acting as responsible representative during commissioning testing and startups, and ensuring that the facility meets the requirements in the technical specification and Vattenfall's Technical Guidelines - Collaborating with other departments within the Facility Investments unit Travel to projects in northern Sweden will occur, as well as occasional travel abroad. Qualification Requirements To succeed in this role, we see that you have at least 5 years of relevant experience in the electrical power field, preferably with a focus on substations, control systems, or relay protection. You have an engineering degree in electrical power technology or have acquired equivalent competence through work experience. Other competencies: - Have worked with a variety of electrical power issues and are familiar with the electricity grid's structure and function, preferably with a focus on fault disconnection and control equipment systems - Fluent in speaking and writing in both Swedish and English - Class B driver's license It is meritorious if you have experience with: - Relay protection testing We are looking for you who thrive in a role where you can use your analytical abilities and collaborate with others.
