About the Role
As an Electrical Design Engineer with a focus on substations and control systems, you are a key person in our reinvestment projects within the power grid 0.4–400 kV. You drive the design from requirements and technical decisions to detailed design, procurement specifications, and complete documentation. The work is conducted mainly together with our own maintenance organization, which means you have close dialogue with those who will build, test, and maintain the facility. In the role, you also ensure that working environment and safety are considered in all stages from design choices and work planning to implementation and handover.
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
Prepare and quality assure design documentation (single-line diagrams, circuit diagrams, connection tables, assembly documents, and layouts/cabinet layouts)
Develop technical descriptions and documentation and provide technical support during implementation
Ensure that the design meets requirements, standards, and internal guidelines, and contribute to technical decisions and solution discussions
Drive documentation all the way to handover, including updates and as-built drawings after construction/commissioning
Coordinate and set requirements with contractors/suppliers in the parts of projects where external resources are used
When needed, work with protective relays/IED and communication in substation environments, for example IEC 61850, and support related to substation networks
Requirements
We are looking for someone who is analytical and enjoys working with complex technical issues. You have good collaboration skills, like to share your expertise, and contribute to the team's overall success. At the same time, you are responsible, drive your tasks to completion, and are comfortable asking for support when needed.
We would like you to have:
Post-secondary education in electrical power/electrical engineering (master's/civil engineer degree) or equivalent experience-based competence
Experience with electrical design engineering in a project environment
Familiar with preparing design documentation: single-line diagrams, circuit diagrams, connection tables, assembly documents, and layouts/cabinet layouts
Good CAD skills
Structured and quality-conscious, take responsibility for technical deliverables and work well in collaboration with many stakeholders
Excellent Swedish language skills, both spoken and written
Driver's license (Category B)
Meritorious:
Experience from distribution projects/substations and control systems
Protective relays/IED and IEC 61850 (configuration/testing, e.g., SCD/GOOSE/MMS where relevant)
Experience with testing/commissioning/troubleshooting of control systems
Experience with procurement specifications and technical support during procurement
Familiarity with as-built drawings and completing documentation after construction
