Electrical Power Engineer – Outokumpu Avesta, Central Maintenance We are now seeking an Electrical Power Engineer for Avesta – a key role for you who want to combine technical responsibility, development, and close collaboration with other functions. With us, you will have the opportunity to work with a complex internal electrical power system in an operation where safety, quality, and long-term sustainability are at the center. About the Role As an electrical power engineer, you have a key role in the management and development of the internal electrical power system to enable safe, stable, and future-proof energy supply. You work both strategically and operationally to ensure that our high-voltage network is safe, reliable, and equipped for the future. The work is varied and involves close collaboration with production, maintenance, project organization, and external parties such as network operators, consultants, and contractors. You are a technical specialist who contributes expertise in everything from daily operations and troubleshooting to investments, projects, and improvement work. You also have an important role in ensuring that laws, regulations, and standards are followed, as well as keeping technical documentation, protection settings, and maintenance strategies up to date. In this role, you will, among other things: Manage the technical operation of internal electrical power installations such as switchgear, transformers, and protection systems Ensure high operational safety and personnel safety in accordance with applicable regulations Participate in or lead projects for new, modification, and reinvestment activities Conduct or commission network analyses and electrical power calculations Assist with operational disruptions, troubleshooting, and root cause analyses Support the operation in risk assessments, work preparations, and occupational health and safety matters related to electrical power Coordinate and follow up on maintenance efforts and ensure they are properly handled in maintenance systems Work with standardization, digitalization, and continuous improvements in electrical power and energy supply Manage NetControl and participate in inspections of electrical power installations, including with the help of drones Participate in on-call duty that handles unplanned disruptions Who Are You? We are looking for someone with a civil or technical engineering degree in electrical power, or equivalent experience. You have several years of experience working with electrical power installations and feel confident in both technical analyses and practical matters. You have good computer skills and are accustomed to working in systems for electrical power control, maintenance, and finance, for example. You master Swedish and English in speech and writing. As a Person You work in a structured manner, take responsibility, and have a high safety awareness. At the same time, you are solution-oriented and enjoy a day-to-day where tasks vary and where you get to collaborate with many different competencies. You are comfortable making technical decisions, raising risks, and contributing to improvements that strengthen operational reliability, quality, and work environment.
