Electrical Power Engineer – Outokumpu Avesta, Central Maintenance
We are now seeking an Electrical Power Engineer for Avesta – a key role for you who want to combine technical responsibility, development and close collaboration with other functions. About the Role
As an electrical power engineer, you have a key role in the management and development of the internal electrical power system to enable safe, stable and future-proof energy supply. You work both strategically and operatively to ensure that our high-voltage grid is safe, reliable and equipped for the future.
The work is varied and involves close collaboration with production, maintenance, project organization and external parties such as grid operators, consultants and contractors. You are a technical specialist who contributes expertise in everything from daily operations and troubleshooting to investments, projects and improvement work.
You also have an important role in ensuring that laws, regulations and standards are complied with and that technical documentation, protection settings and maintenance strategies are kept up to date.
In the role you will, among other things:
Manage the technical operation of internal electrical installations such as switchgear, transformers and protection systems
Ensure high operational safety and personnel safety in accordance with applicable regulations
Participate in or lead projects for new, renovation and reinvestments
Perform or commission network analyses and electrical power calculations
Assist with operational failures, troubleshooting and root cause analyses
Support the operation in risk assessments, work plans and occupational health and safety issues related to electrical power
Coordinate and monitor maintenance efforts and ensure that these are correctly handled in maintenance systems
Work with standardization, digitalization and continuous improvements in electrical power and energy supply
Manage NetControl and participate in inspections of electrical installations, also with the help of drones
Participate in standby duty that handles unplanned failures
Who Are You?
We are looking for you who have a civil or technical engineering degree in electrical power, or equivalent experience. You have several years of experience working with electrical installations and feel confident in both technical analyses and practical issues.
You have good computer skills and are used to working in systems for, for example, electrical power control, maintenance and finance. You master Swedish and English in speech and writing.
