The Student Support Services (Elevhälsan) Department in Helsingborg is now launching a new and targeted initiative to further strengthen support for the city's elementary schools. We are therefore seeking 2-3 special education teachers with expertise in language, reading and writing development or mathematics development who want to contribute their skills where needs are greatest. The initiative on central special education teacher positions aims to use expertise strategically and benefit multiple schools and students. You will have the opportunity to work closely with students in prioritized school environments and receive collegial support and mentorship within Student Support Services. You will have the opportunity to participate in a new initiative from the beginning where we together plan and set strategy for the work. Work Tasks As a special education teacher in this initiative, you are employed within the Student Support Services department and are periodically placed at prioritized elementary schools where the need for special education teacher expertise is particularly great. The selection of schools is based on analyses of, among other things, grade results, assessment materials, pedagogical investigations, and dialogues with the city's principals. Interventions are time-limited and goal-oriented and run for at least one semester. At the end of the semester, a joint evaluation of the initiative is conducted based on the goals established at the start. If the need continues, the assignment can be extended for another semester. If the assignment is not extended, you will be placed at another school with a need for your expertise. Assignment Content Assignments vary depending on the schools' needs and may, for example, involve you: working closely with individual students or groups of students working with students in a specific class supporting students in special education groups Close work with students is central to the assignment, while you are expected to work in close collaboration with teachers, special education specialists, and school leadership at the relevant school(s). The work is structured and conducted in close dialogue with the principal of the relevant school(s) and the unit manager within Student Support Services. Together you will clarify goals, follow up on interventions, and participate in evaluations.
