The school also has a student welfare team consisting of school leadership, special education teachers, counselors, school nurses, and school psychologists. 3 position(s). DUTIES As a teaching assistant, your work may be directed toward an individual student or a group of students who need support to benefit from education in the lower grades. As a teaching assistant, you will regularly support and follow students throughout their school day, both in classroom situations, during breaks, and in after-school care, and help guide students in the long-term work of achieving the school's social and academic goals. You will collaborate with the student's mentor and participate in planning around the student's school day and adapt instruction based on their needs. You help create a safe foundation and good conditions for student development and learning. You enjoy playing, leading play, being careful with schedules, rules, and routines; you like movement and nature. The position involves considerable personal responsibility and much time in direct work with children. You need to be confident in handling unforeseen situations and be able to meet a child who sometimes acts impulsively or unexpectedly. Your ability to create security, be flexible, and at the same time be clear in your approach is crucial for success in the role.
