Valdemarsro gymnasium Sege Park is now seeking an engaged student assistant with expertise in sign language for an adapted upper secondary school.
Job Responsibilities
As a student assistant, you will work together with other staff to create an accessible learning environment that gives each student the best possible conditions for learning and development.
In this role, you will work in collaboration with the responsible educator to plan and participate in pedagogical activities. You have an important task in supporting and promoting students' academic and personal development, both at group and individual levels. At Valdemarsro Sege Park, you will support students during lessons as well as during breaks and free time. You will work to enable learning and follow up on interventions based on each student's individual needs. The job also includes short-term supervision and other tasks within the school.
The work also includes care tasks such as personal hygiene assistance, physical lifting, and transfers. It will also involve working with students who have challenging behavior. At Valdemarsro Sege Park, we work in a multidisciplinary manner, which means that as a student assistant you will have close collaboration with other professions regarding the student's progress and development.
Qualifications
Requirements:
Completed and approved upper secondary education with a focus on care and health or children and leisure, or equivalent education and acquired competence in the field
Expertise in sign language (Note - not sign support, TAKK)
Digital competence that means it is natural for you to use digital tools as work tools and aids
Good Swedish in speech and writing.
Meritorious:
Education and/or knowledge of cognitive, physical, and/or psychosocial difficulties
Education and/or knowledge of AAC (Alternative and Augmentative Communication)
Experience working with children and/or young people with cognitive and/or physical difficulties
Experience with personal care assistance
Knowledge of autism spectrum and low-arousal approaches

About the Workplace
Valdemarsro gymnasium is an adapted school that works to be a model for how to design an accessible learning environment based on all students' different conditions. Here, space for learning and development is created daily in a warm and inclusive environment. The school offers education in individual and national programs with a wide range of subjects: health, care and social services, trade and service, aesthetic activities, and property and construction. In August 2026, we are opening our new school unit Valdemarsro Sege Park, a part of Valdemarsro gymnasium. Here, instruction is provided within the individual program in an adapted upper secondary school. The school is located in newly renovated premises near Beijers Park.
