Ref: 20261883 We are now seeking a committed student assistant for a fixed-term position at 90% at the adapted upper secondary school at Malmö Restaurant School. Duties In your role as a student assistant, you will primarily work under the guidance of a responsible educator to participate in the implementation and planning of pedagogical activities with students, as well as other tasks within both school and short-term supervision. You will contribute to promoting student development, support students' knowledge development as well as personal development, remove obstacles to student learning, and follow up on interventions based on individual student needs. As a student assistant, you will work closely with student health services, teachers, school management, and students regarding student progression and development. We expect you to view each student from a holistic perspective and maintain a positive view of students. You create good relationships with your colleagues and students. Through conversations and projects, you motivate, support, and create a sense of security for the student at school and in their studies. The role may include caring for individual students and/or working with students with physical or cognitive disabilities. Work as a student assistant involves varied tasks depending on the nature of the specific assignment. Qualifications Requirements: Completed and approved upper secondary education Experience in vocational pedagogical assistant work with youth with intellectual disabilities, slow learning, and/or NPF diagnosis and hearing impairment Experience with special accommodations and individual planning for individual students Familiarity with visual supports, time management tools, and individual planning based on students' specific needs Knowledge of IF and NPF diagnoses in youth Digital competence, meaning it is natural for you to use digital tools as work resources and aids Good Swedish in speaking and writing Meritorious: Student assistant training Care education Experience from healthcare professions Knowledge of languages other than Swedish As a student assistant in the adapted upper secondary school, you need to be calm and stress-resilient, and have the ability to structure your students' daily routines. You need the ability to interpret social interactions and signals from students. You must be able to work with low affect and understand the difficulties an IF diagnosis and an NPF diagnosis can entail for an individual. Furthermore, you need to be a good adult role model and be secure and trustworthy in your interactions, as well as have good ability to collaborate with external partners. About the Workplace Malmö Restaurant School is a vocational upper secondary school in central Malmö. We educate students who see a future in the restaurant and food industry with its various specializations consisting of cooking, catering, delicacies, serving, baking, and charcuterie. The school offers a national program, an introduction program, and an adapted upper secondary school. We are not just a school but also operate two well-visited lunch restaurants and our own bakery.
