In the 100-year-old school building, designed by Gunnar Asplund, 620 students attend from preschool class through grade 6. There is after-school care for children in preschool class and grades 1-4. The school has a high sense of well-being where many staff members have worked at the school for a long time and, together with younger educators, are active in moving the school's operations forward. This position is a fixed-term employment for Fall 2026. Job Responsibilities For this position, we are seeking two student assistants, one for preschool class and one for grade 2. As a student assistant, you will be part of a class team together with class teachers, after-school care teachers, and other student assistants. You will support students both during the school day and at after-school care and help create a safe, developmental, and inclusive learning environment. In this role, you will actively work to build good relationships with students, pay attention to their individual needs, and provide support with schoolwork, various activities, and transitions throughout the day. You will also help with practical tasks such as hygiene and bathroom visits when needed. The work involves close collaboration with colleagues, guardians, and other professionals around the student. You are responsible for ensuring that daily routines run smoothly and are simultaneously involved in developing approaches and routines that create the best possible conditions for students' learning, development, and well-being. Qualifications We are looking for someone who has completed upper secondary education and has experience working with students in need of special support. We would like you to have experience working with children or students with neurodevelopmental disorders. You take your tasks seriously, are committed to completing what you start, and ensure that work is done correctly. You have the ability to translate established goals into concrete action. You listen to other people in order to understand their needs. You have an inclusive approach. You have the ability to see all students and a particularly good ability to see each individual based on their circumstances. You create engagement and are challenged by getting students to want to learn. You have the ability to build good relationships among colleagues, guardians, and students. We welcome your application!
