The school is beautifully situated with a schoolyard bordering forests and recreation areas, which are actively used in daily operations. The school has activities from preschool class through year 6 and four after-school departments. Key concepts the school works with are knowledge, security, and joy. One of our student assistants has begun further education, and we are therefore seeking an engaged and positive student assistant for Gerestaskolan. Job Responsibilities You will be part of a work team with teachers, after-school instructors, and other student assistants. According to the teacher's planning, you will work with students in whole-class settings, groups, and individually. You will also help prepare appropriate materials, visual supports, and other adaptations. You need to be confident communicating with guardians and colleagues. You work according to school laws, curricula, and municipal goals. The position involves working with students with special needs, using a low-intensity approach where you maintain high positive expectations for students. You naturally focus on what is "possible" and demonstrate great commitment to equal value for all. QUALIFICATIONS You have relevant education for the position with a minimum of upper secondary level. You have previous experience in pedagogical work and working with students with special support needs who have a neurodevelopmental variation. You have a positive attitude and believe that all students can succeed. You have a professional demeanor in your interactions with students and guardians. You see differences as enriching and are happy to take initiative to learn and do new things together with others. You are receptive to new approaches and new technology, are self-reliant, confident, responsible, and constructive. The position requires you to be persistent while remaining positive and open-minded with good collaboration skills. You speak and write Swedish fluently as it is required in contact with guardians and colleagues. Requirements: Student Assistant or Teacher Assistant certification Good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written. Meritorious: Previous experience working as a student assistant. Advanced knowledge of neurodevelopmental approaches. Low-intensity communication approach. Personal Qualities: Relationship-building and comfortable meeting with students, guardians, and colleagues Good collaboration ability, engaged, and communicative Good organizational skills, structured, solution-oriented, and experienced in taking responsibility from idea to implementation Calm and clear in conflict situations and good at managing multiple tasks simultaneously Special emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
