Are you driven by helping others develop and do you have a talent for building relationships with people around you? Are you someone who finds a way forward when facing everyday challenges? Do you thrive in a job that has clear structure while no two days are quite the same? Then we believe the position of student assistant in an adapted school might be perfect for you! Your Work Tasks As a student assistant in an adapted school, you work closely with our students and provide support throughout their entire school day—pedagogically, practically, and socially. Through good relationships, you support and provide security to our students so they can learn, develop, and make progress in their schooling and daily lives. You get to closely follow students' developmental journey in school and celebrate their progress together with both students and colleagues. Adapted school exists for students with intellectual disabilities. Because our students have great individual variation in their abilities and support needs, your work tasks and approach vary both throughout the day and over time. Our work is characterized by structure and predictability, while you need to be flexible in how you meet each student. You are therefore expected to act with calm and confidence while challenging students to develop and finding creative solutions to any challenges that arise. Common Work Tasks: Clarify the teacher's instructions during lessons, for example by communicating through verbal explanation, sign language as support, sensory stimulation, or visual aids. Support students with practical challenges throughout the day, for example toilet visits/diaper changes, recess activities, during meals, meeting students at their taxi pickup, lifting and mobility assistance. Participate in teaching alongside students. When needed, lead lessons based on the teacher's planning. Support students in social interaction with others. Document the student's school day, either for the students or support students in doing so, by taking photos and writing down reflections. Follow students' personal care plans, for example testing blood sugar, administering insulin injections, giving medications, and tube feeding. Participate in planning, implementing, and evaluating student development. Support and prepare students for independent living after school. The position may involve working dedicated with one student, with several students, or providing support to all students in a classroom. You take independent responsibility for your tasks while all work happens in collaboration with colleagues, working together to ensure the school day functions and students feel well and enjoy school. You also collaborate with guardians and other school staff. This is a temporary position through December 18, 2026. Your Workplace For us, collaboration and development are a natural part of everyday work. The adapted primary school grades 7-9 is organized into three units: Nya Rydsskolan, Ekholmsskolan, and a new unit at Anders Ljungstedts gymnasium. Nya Rydsskolan has five classes with approximately 50 students and 40 educators, where the majority of students study subject areas. Ekholmsskolan has six classes with approximately 50 students and 40 educators where most students study subjects. Both Nya Rydsskolan and Ekholmsskolan are part of primary school, with instruction in home classrooms at school and in pavilions with classrooms in close proximity to the school grounds. Our new unit will be located in newly renovated facilities at Anders Ljungstedts gymnasium with approximately 20 students and 15 educators. Here you become part of an engaged team where collaboration and community are central. You work closely with your colleagues in daily work, with good opportunities to share experiences, support each other, and develop together. As a student assistant, you work with multiple students and in a group, which creates a safe work environment where you are never alone in your role. About You It is a requirement that you have completed upper secondary education or adult education. It is a merit if you have experience working with students with intellectual disabilities/neuropsychiatric disabilities or low-arousal approaches. You have good communication skills in spoken and written Swedish. This is necessary so that, according to the curriculum (Lgra22), you organize and carry out work so that students receive support in their language and communication development and ensure that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way. In your role as student assistant, you are aware of the goals and quality standards for the activities. You have a good understanding of human differences and approach them in a responsive and flexible way in teaching and daily work. You create good relationships and collaborate well with contacts that occur in your professional role. You lead work with students through motivation, engagement, and participation. You also contribute to student learning by bringing enthusiasm, energy, and passion to your work. Additional Information No personal letter is required with this application. You apply using electronic ID. Don't have electronic ID? Contact the responsible HR consultant or manager, and we'll help you.
