The Education Department is responsible for preschool, pedagogical care, after-school programs, preschool class, primary school, adapted primary school, upper secondary school, adapted upper secondary school, municipal adult education, adult education for immigrants (SFI), youth recreation center, open preschool, and cultural school. Preschool and after-school activities are available at all seven F-6 schools, with geographic distribution throughout the municipality. Altorpskolan, the municipality's only grades 7-9 school, admits students from all our F-6 schools and is strategically located in central Herrljunga. Kunskapskällan, the municipality's upper secondary school, is also located in Herrljunga. 1 position(s). DUTIES As a teaching assistant with us, you will be part of a work team supporting a smaller group of students. In our adapted primary school, you'll work closely with the responsible special education teacher/specialist and collaborate with other professionals at the school. Together with teachers, you are responsible for creating a good school environment and favorable conditions for students' learning, development, and care. The work requires you to have the ability to build trusting relationships by treating students, guardians, and colleagues in ways that promote trust and security. You understand the importance of patience and calmness when working with students who have special needs. You need to have experience with and strong knowledge of low-arousal approaches to address challenging situations. We promote a learning environment where all can use alternative and augmentative communication (AAC). Our goal is for every student to feel safe, feel included, and experience the learning environment as understandable, manageable, and meaningful. QUALIFICATIONS As a teaching assistant in adapted primary school, you need to be flexible and able to adapt to the needs of the student group and individual students. You also need to have strong ability to collaborate closely with colleagues. Experience working in adapted primary school and LSS short-term residential facilities is a merit. Great importance is placed on personal suitability. Employment type: Permanent position. Duration: Permanent, start date: 2026-09-14.
