The school is centrally located in the community with access to both municipal facilities and nature. Skärgårdsskolan is one of Umeå municipality's practice schools, which means that during the school year we receive teacher students for their practical training (VFU). We are now looking for you who want to work with us as a student assistant this fall! Employment Information One position as a substitute, full-time, starting as soon as possible by agreement until 2026-12-31. Your Responsibilities In this position, you will support a first-grade student with Type 1 diabetes. The work involves creating a sense of security during the school day, providing support as needed, and following the student's diabetes routines in collaboration with school staff and guardians. The work as a student assistant also involves providing individual support to other students in their learning according to given instructions and contributing to a safe and inclusive learning environment. You collaborate with teachers and other staff regarding the student's needs and support students in structure, focus, and participation in teaching. The role also includes being an adult support in the school's daily operations, a resource in the classroom and at the after-school program, and if needed, assist during breaks or other activities. Work tasks will be adapted to the needs of the operations and students. About You You are a reliable adult and a good role model who finds it easy to connect with students and see each individual. You create a safe and stimulating environment at school and collaborate effectively with colleagues to achieve common goals. As a person, you are flexible, clear, and organized. You enjoy working with children in need of special support and are an important part of their school day. Furthermore, you have good collaboration skills, are responsive, and communicate professionally with students, families, and other actors around the students. You are engaged, share our values, and work toward set goals with a focus on continuous improvements. Personal suitability is very important to us.
