The Resource School in Strängnäs is a municipal initiative accessed through the Central Child and Student Health Services. The school serves approximately 15 students in grades 4-9 with neuropsychiatric variations, pronounced psychosocial challenges, and significant mental health concerns. The school follows the Swedish elementary school curriculum Lgr 22. We offer an educational experience tailored to meet our students' unique needs through small teaching groups and high teacher and support staff ratios. Students at the Resource School are given the opportunity to develop according to their own abilities and needs through explicit pedagogy and individualized instructional materials. We are now looking for you to join our team! We currently have two positions available: • Student Assistant, indefinite 100%. • Student Assistant, parental leave coverage until December 18. Employment level 80% until October 1, 2026, and thereafter 100% until December 18, 2026. 2 position(s). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a Student Assistant at the Resource School in Strängnäs, you work closely with students who have neuropsychiatric variations, pronounced psychosocial challenges, and mental health concerns. You are an important part of the school's student-centered work and contribute to creating a safe, structured, and developmental school environment where each student has the opportunity to succeed based on their individual circumstances. In this role, you support teachers in pedagogical work during lessons and other parts of the school day. You provide students with individually adapted support to create favorable conditions for learning, participation, and social development. Through a calm and reassuring approach, you serve as a stable adult who helps students manage challenging situations and establish functional routines. The work also involves actively contributing to conflict management, relationship-building, and preventing situations that could cause stress or anxiety for students. You work closely with the school's teachers and other professionals to ensure coordinated support for each student. As part of the role, you are also responsible for planning, implementing, and developing activities in the after-school program. Together with colleagues, you create meaningful activities that promote students' social interaction, independence, and well-being. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who has: • a high school diploma. • previous experience working with children and young people, for example in school or other settings. • strong ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing. • good ability to use IT as a support in your work, such as in documentation. We consider the following as advantageous: • complementary education such as student assistant or social pedagogy. • previous experience with pedagogical work with children and young people in a school environment. • a B driver's license.
