Welcome to Näsbydalskolan! About the Role As a student assistant, you will work closely with a student with blindness and hearing impairment. You are an important source of support throughout the school day—both during instruction and in other school activities. Your task is to ensure that the student has access to the school's content, feels secure in the school environment, and is given the opportunity to participate in both the pedagogical and social contexts. Job Responsibilities: Serve as the student's guide in the school environment, for example between classrooms, cafeteria, and recreation areas. Assist the student during lessons and in other school activities. Prepare, adapt, and provide learning materials in accessible formats, such as braille, tactile images, audio, or digital. Support communication and contribute to increased independence for the student. Provide support to teaching staff, for example by adapting materials before lessons. Collaborate with special education teachers, resource teams, and external rehabilitation services. Contribute to a safe, accessible, and predictable school day. Qualifications: Experience working with children or youth with disabilities, preferably in a school setting. Knowledge of or experience working with people who are blind and/or deafblind is a plus. An advantage if you have mastery of braille (or are willing to learn). Strong collaboration skills, attentiveness, and ability to work in a structured manner. Patience, commitment, and a reassuring adult presence. Basic technical skills, such as working with assistive devices or digital learning tools. This position is a fixed-term employment for the school year 2025/2026 with the possibility of extension.
