Sjöstadsskolan is a central modern school beautifully located near water, forest, and outdoor recreation areas in Hammarby Sjöstad. The school currently has around 850 students, of which 40 students attend our adapted primary school. We are now seeking an experienced teaching assistant for our wonderful adapted primary school, on a full-year temporary contract. In your role as a teaching assistant, it is important that you are constantly engaged and attentive to the students' needs. Together with teachers, you work to create a developing, safe, meaningful, and positive environment for the students throughout the entire school day including after-school care. Care and constant supervision are other important parts. The work aims to help students develop, as much as possible and based on their own conditions, in accordance with the goals of the education. In your role, you will have close contact and close cooperation with after-school staff, students, and students' guardians. The work requires good physical fitness and strength, as heavy lifting is involved. Diaper changes, feeding, and assistance with toilet visits are part of the work. We consider it particularly important that you have extensive experience in adapted schools as well as in care and support, as we currently have several students with greater care needs such as tube feeding and personal care. Knowledge of digital aids and TAKK/AKK is important, since several of our students lack speech. Documented experience working with this target group. For example, in adapted school, daily activities, KTT, or LSS.
