Our Operations Värmdö's resource school, Sjöängsskolan, opened in November 2025. The school is located in Hemmesta east of Gustavsberg. The school is characterized by an adapted learning environment with small student groups and high staff density. During the 2026/2027 school year, the school has 40 students in grades F-9, as well as after-school care. The school is located in Hemmesta east of Gustavsberg, approximately 30 minutes by direct bus from Slussen. Sjöängsskolan has around 15 employees, mainly teachers/special educators and resource/after-school staff. We have well-developed work with extra accommodations, visual support and digital aids in teaching. Sjöängsskolan has high expertise in PBS (Positive Behavior Support) and TBA (Applied Behavior Analysis). Your Assignment The role as resource/student assistant involves providing support in small classes with instruction of individual students or in groups according to the supervising teacher's instructions. There may also be a need for substitute resources in after-school care before/after school and during school breaks. Your Experience We are looking for someone with experience working with students with extensive needs for special support. You need to have experience with low-affect interaction and meeting different types of challenging behaviors. Basic education in child/youth work is desirable, for example childcare worker, after-school leader or similar. Your Personal Qualities As a person, you are inclusive with a low-affect approach. You have commitment and solution focus and work for a good work environment for the students as well as your colleagues. We place great importance on personal suitability. The Position The positions are hourly positions based on needs where the employee can accept or decline shorter or longer substitute assignments during the 2026/2027 school year. For this position, presentation of a valid extract from the police criminal record is a requirement for employment.
