Electronics Designer – Miniaturized High-Performance Wireless Products
Xiris Group AB · Full-time
Storgatan 23 C, Stockholm, Sweden
Companion AB, a subsidiary of Xiris Group AB, develops and manufactures its own high-performance and energy-efficient wearables. These are connected to our server-based Enterprise Browser which, in addition to functioning as a server-based web browser and interactively distributing video-rendered web applications and artificial real-time intelligence through our proprietary software platform MIRS. Our solutions are GPU-intensive and our servers use both air and water cooling to achieve maximum performance and redundancy. Our data center infrastructure enables the development of extremely small and energy-efficient devices where complex applications and advanced graphics can run in real-time in our data centers, rather than locally on the device. With our technology, we make glasses smart and watches into powerful media devices. We are also developing a multifunctional mini-router that can be used together with our own products, as a standalone media player, or as a 5G router. We are now looking for a technically skilled and meticulous electronics designer who wants to be part of developing the next generation of our products. About the Role As an electronics designer at Companion, you will have a central role in developing our future product platform. You will work closely with our CEO and founder and help shape both electronics architecture and technical solutions from idea to finished product. The role is perfect for you if you enjoy combining theoretical understanding with practical design work and thrive on solving technically complex problems where size, performance, power consumption, and wireless communication must work together. You will work with, among other things: Developing electronics for compact and energy-efficient products. Schematic design, component selection, and PCB layout. Prototype design and further development. Integration of wireless communication, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and 5G. Power management and optimization of power consumption. Measurement, troubleshooting, and verification of electronics. Developing solutions with high demands on performance, size, and low latency. Collaboration between electronics, mechanical engineering, software, and our backend/data center systems. Technical problem-solving and development of new product concepts. Because we are a technology-driven company with short decision-making paths, you will have great influence over how our products are developed. You are not expected to just implement given solutions, but also contribute your own ideas and technical improvements. We are Looking for You If We believe you have a genuine interest in electronics and enjoy understanding how things work – and most importantly, actually building them. You are meticulous, solution-oriented, and independent and can take responsibility for a technical task from idea and design to working prototype. We would like to see that you have experience in several of the following areas: Electronics design and PCB design. Schematic design and component selection. Practical prototype and electronics work. Microcontrollers and embedded systems. Wireless communication, such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or 5G. Battery-powered and energy-efficient products. Power management and power supply. Measurement and troubleshooting with, for example, oscilloscopes and multimeters. RF and antenna-related design. EMC/EMI and signal integrity. Production and DFM/DFT. It is a merit if you have experience with miniaturized products, wearables, IoT, consumer electronics, or other products where low power consumption and compact form factor have been central design requirements. We value practical experience highly. If you have built your own electronics projects, developed your own circuit boards, or worked on advanced hobby projects, we would like to see it. As a Person You are curious and technically driven and enjoy solving problems that don't have an obvious answer. You need to be able to work independently, but at the same time appreciate close collaboration with other technically interested people. You are unpretentious, meticulous, and willing to test, measure, redo, and improve until the solution works. Above all, we believe you have a passion for electronics and technical development. What We Offer At Companion, you will have the opportunity to work with technology spanning several advanced areas – from miniaturized electronics and wireless communication to GPU-intensive data center architecture, video rendering, and artificial intelligence. We offer: The opportunity to work with advanced data center architecture, miniaturized electronics, and wireless interactive communication with very low latency. A varied day-to-day with both practical design work and creative problem-solving. The opportunity to influence product architecture and technical decisions. Short decision-making paths and close collaboration with the company's founder. A place in a committed team of technically interested colleagues with a strong focus on performance and innovation. Opportunity to work with products where electronics, software, AI, and data center technology meet. Your Electronics Design We would like to see something you have designed yourself. Please send a picture of your best electronics design or an electronics project that you are particularly proud of. It could be, for example, your own circuit board, a prototype, or a finished product that you have helped develop. Please briefly explain what you were responsible for and what technical challenges you solved. We are genuinely interested in seeing what you can build. Application Do you want to be part of Companion AB and Xiris Group AB? Send your application with CV and preferably a picture of your best electronics design to: [email protected] Selection and interviews are ongoing. We look forward to your application!
