Cēsu Municipality Central Administration Education Department invites applications for ECONOMIST (permanent position with standard working hours) The successful candidate will provide significant support to the Education Department in managing organizational financial processes. Requirements for applicants: • Higher education in economics, finance, or accounting • Experience in financial analysis or management accounting • Strong skills in data management and financial modeling • Understanding of accounting principles • Preferred: experience with Dativa, Budžets, and Gvedis applications • Excellent MS Excel skills • Ability to analyze large datasets and identify patterns • Precision, analytical thinking, and strong sense of responsibility • Excellent communication skills and empathetic approach MAIN DUTIES: • Perform financial calculations and provide regular analytics for management • Prepare financial analysis and reports • Prepare management accounting reports (budget execution) • Calculate and allocate state-targeted funding to educational institutions and monitor expenditure execution • Review and approve tarification submitted in the VIIS system • Prepare draft decisions on allocated state-targeted funding WE OFFER: • Responsible and diverse work • Professional development opportunities • Salary of 1603 EUR before tax • Partial remote work option • Health insurance after 3 months of employment, social benefits • Additional vacation days • If the specialist's actual or declared residence is outside Cēsu Municipality administrative territory, the specialist may be eligible to apply for living space Please send your CV and cover letter to: [email protected] with the subject line "Economist" by August 6, 2026.
