WORK TASKS About the role Do you want to be part of developing governance, follow-up, and analysis in an agency that makes a real difference? We are now seeking an Economics Controller for our management support team. The position focuses on financial management, and we are therefore looking for someone who wants to contribute qualified support to management through financial analysis, planning, follow-up, and development. As an economics controller, you serve as support to management and have overall responsibility for financial matters within the business area you support. You work in a cross-functional management support team with the mandate to assist the business area in its governance and development. You work with financial planning, budgeting, follow-up, and analysis to ensure that resources are used effectively and in line with the agency's overall objectives. An important part of your role is to support the business area's management in being proactive in governance by identifying opportunities, risks, and development needs at an early stage. You contribute with data and analyses that strengthen decision-making and enable long-term and strategic resource allocation. In this role, you work closely with the responsible functions for the agency's overall financial and operational governance and standardization. You are part of a network of economics controllers from other business areas where you together contribute to the development of unified working methods, routines, and processes. Through your work, you support both the business area's management and the agency's long-term development and ability to achieve its strategic objectives. Work tasks • Provide advice and support to managers on matters concerning budget work, forecasts, and financial follow-up • Prepare financial analyses and reports to support management decision-making • Ensure that operations comply with guidelines and regulations for financial management • Contribute to developing and implementing uniform working methods and processes for financial governance • Participate in change projects related to financial processes and efficiency improvements • Support the business area with calculations, investment assessments, and cost analyses • Collaborate with operational controllers and other functions to link finance to operational objectives QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who has: • Relevant academic education in economics • Several years of experience working as an economist in government operations or other public sector • Good knowledge of accounting, budgeting, and financial regulations within the public sector • Experience working with financial analyses and reporting for decision support • Very good proficiency with financial systems and other relevant digital tools • Ability to present financial information in a clear and pedagogical manner • Ability to express yourself well in spoken Swedish or sign language and in writing Meritorious: • Good knowledge of government accounting • Experience in areas related to the business area's mission Personal qualities • You are analytical, structured, and solution-oriented • You are collaboration-oriented and have the ability to build good relationships within and outside the organization • You are initiative-taking and drive your work independently while contributing to overarching common goals • You have a holistic perspective and can link financial analyses to the organization's objectives and challenges • You are communicative and can explain complex issues and financial relationships in a pedagogical way Great weight is placed on personal suitability. Since your colleagues are geographically dispersed, collaboration and meetings take place largely digitally via Zoom, Teams, and Skype. This provides great flexibility but also requires good structure, clear communication, and the ability to build relationships even at a distance. Type of employment: Permanent employment.
