We communicate research and knowledge relevant to the special education field. We are responsible for the agency's digitalization, service development, and new system solutions. WORK DUTIES About the Role Do you want to help develop governance, monitoring, and analysis in an agency that makes a real difference? We are now seeking an Economic Controller for our management support team. The position is focused on economic governance, and we are looking for someone who can provide qualified support to management through financial analysis, planning, monitoring, and development. As an economic controller, you will serve as support to management and have overall responsibility for economic matters within the department you support. You will work in a cross-functional management support team with the mission to assist the department in its governance and development. You will work with economic planning, budgeting, monitoring, and analysis to ensure that resources are used effectively and in line with the agency's overall objectives. An important part of your role is to support the department's management in being proactive in governance by identifying opportunities, risks, and development needs at an early stage. You will contribute with materials and analyses that strengthen decision-making and enable long-term and strategic resource allocation. In this role, you will work closely with the responsible functions for the agency's overall economic and operational governance and standardization. You will be part of a network of economic controllers from other departments where together you contribute to the development of unified working methods, procedures, and processes. Through your work, you support both the department's management and the agency's long-term development and ability to achieve its strategic goals. Through your work, you will contribute to strengthening both the department's and the agency's combined ability to achieve their strategic goals in a structured, efficient, and sustainable manner. Work Duties • Provide advice and support to managers on budget work, forecasts, and economic monitoring • Prepare economic analyses and reports to support management decision-making • Ensure that operations comply with guidelines and regulations for economic management • Contribute to developing and implementing unified working methods and processes for economic governance • Participate in change projects related to economic processes and efficiencies • Support the department with calculations, investment assessments, and cost analyses • Collaborate with operational controllers and other functions to connect economics to operational goals QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with: • Relevant academic education in economics • Several years of experience working as an economist in state-run operations or other public sector • Good knowledge of accounting, budgeting, and economic regulations within the public sector • Experience working with economic analyses and reporting for decision support • Very good experience working in economic systems and other relevant digital tools • Ability to present economic information in a clear and pedagogical manner • Ability to express yourself well in spoken or signed Swedish and in writing Meritorious: • Good knowledge of state accounting • Experience related to the department's mission Personal Qualities • You are analytical, structured, and solution-oriented • You are collaborative and have the ability to build good relationships within and outside the organization • You are proactive and drive your work independently while contributing to overall shared goals • You have a holistic perspective and can connect economic analyses to operations' goals and challenges • You are communicative and can explain complex issues and economic relationships in a pedagogical manner Great weight is placed on personal suitability. Since your colleagues are geographically dispersed, collaboration and meetings largely take place digitally via Zoom, Teams, and Skype. This provides great flexibility but also requires good structure, clear communication, and the ability to build relationships at a distance. Employment Type: Permanent employment.
