Job description
As chief economist at a center within healthcare, you are responsible for financial processes at the center level: accounting and internal control, financial planning, monitoring and financial management. The role involves being a strategic support in financial matters based on a holistic view and process thinking. It involves developing and managing the finance function as well as producing follow-ups, decision-making materials and analyses. An important part is to communicate finances in a simple and clear way to support healthcare operations and contribute to goal achievement and successful operations. You will lead a number of controllers and accounting economists who support the operations within the center. The assignment also involves you supporting some operations yourself. Your role is strategic but also partly operational.
The position involves that you at the regional level actively contribute within the finance functional area to the development of region-wide finance processes and work on overarching assignments in the area.
Work shall be conducted and developed based on the values and perspectives that apply within Region Östergötland.
Work team
As chief economist at a center within healthcare, you are part of a unit with nine other chief economists within healthcare and you report directly to the operations manager for Finance and Management within the Regional Management Office.
The position also involves that you actively contribute to the development of region-wide finance processes by participating in the Finance Council led by the Finance Director.
In your role, you will report directly to the production unit manager for your center and you are part of the management team together with other functions such as HR and development. Most centers within healthcare have operations in Linköping, Norrköping and Motala. The majority of time is spent in Linköping but there is an opportunity to work in Norrköping and Motala part of the time.
About you
We are looking for someone who is educated as a chartered accountant or has other relevant education combined with experience that the employer deems appropriate for the position.
You have experience with qualified financial work and cross-functional collaboration. Experience from financial monitoring based on process thinking and management responsibility is meriting.

The assignment is a fixed-term appointment for four years with a permanent employment within your base profession.
