Responsibilities This is a university-wide role that involves providing qualified support to all department staff on financial and administrative matters. You will be part of the department's finance function together with two economists and an administrative manager. The responsibilities include Invoice management (accounts receivable and accounts payable) Fixed asset registration, activation, inventory, and disposal Serving as the department's procurement coordinator and managing purchases in accordance with applicable regulations and procedures Participation in follow-up, forecasting, and year-end closing work Account reconciliations and transfers Management of incoming and outgoing payments Ensuring that financial administration is handled in accordance with applicable regulations Contributing to high service levels and ensuring that work is performed in accordance with internal and external requirements and regulations As a finance administrator, you will also develop, adapt, and streamline the department's financial and administrative procedures in accordance with the university's guidelines and regulations as well as operational needs. Other administrative tasks may occur based on operational requirements. Qualifications We are looking for someone with higher education or other post-secondary education that the employer deems relevant for the position. You have at least three years of documented experience in accounting work. Excellent skills in Excel are required. The position also requires strong skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written. It is highly advantageous if you have previous experience with financial and administrative work within the higher education sector. Experience with the financial and administrative systems Agresso and Proceedo as well as competence in procurement and purchasing is also highly advantageous. We are looking for someone with a strong ability to independently manage, plan, and prioritize your work tasks and drive them forward to completion. You have a problem-solving and service-oriented approach and enjoy handling varied and parallel tasks. You work in a structured and meticulous manner, even under high workload. Furthermore, you have good digital maturity and the ability to quickly learn new systems and procedures. The role involves many contacts with department staff, other parts of Gothenburg University, and external suppliers. This requires good collaboration skills and good pedagogical ability to explain financial processes and regulations in a clear and accessible manner. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. Employment The position is a permanent employment at 60% of full-time at the Department of Applied Information Technology, Business Support Division. A probationary period applies to all permanent positions. Start date 2026-09-09 or as soon as possible.
