The Department of Public Health and Caring Sciences is a department within the Faculty of Medicine at Uppsala University. The department currently has approximately 170 employees and an additional 150 researchers are affiliated with the department. Operations consist of 11 research groups and education is conducted at all levels. We now need reinforcement within our finance function and we are looking for you who are at the beginning of your finance career and want to develop in a broad and varied role. You will be part of the finance team consisting of three experienced finance professionals and two finance administrators. We are located at the Biomedical Center in Uppsala and we are looking for a person who prefers to work on-site at the office, but the opportunity for remote work one day per week is available. Job Responsibilities As a Finance Administrator you will work independently but in close collaboration and support from your colleagues. You will support the department's finance professionals with finance administration but also have your own areas that you drive and are responsible for. You will work with invoice management, ongoing bookkeeping and accounting matters and have contact with the department's researchers and teachers and provide them with support on financial matters. Among the work tasks and areas of responsibility are: Invoice management Accounting, follow-up and analysis Forecasts and cost calculations Budget and closing of accounts work Reporting to external grant providers Contribute to ongoing development of procedures and working methods Other occurring administrative tasks may be added. Qualification Requirements University degree in a relevant field such as accounting or equivalent competence as assessed by the employer as equivalent. Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing. Very good IT skills and current experience of working in administrative systems and in the Office suite as you will work in several different administrative systems that are continuously changing. Very great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. The role requires that you enjoy working with administration, are thorough and have a good ability to work in a structured manner. Furthermore, you need to be a team player with good ability to cooperate with others and have the ability to take responsibility for your own work tasks and areas of responsibility. It is important that you are unpretentious and flexible as the role is broad and you need to be able to take on varying work tasks, sometimes with short notice. The workload varies throughout the year and you need to have the ability to work independently, in a controlled and structured manner during peak periods but also have the ability to drive and plan your work during quieter periods.
