The Service Administration's common mission is to deliver services to the City of Malmö's departments and municipal companies. Through coordination and efficiency improvements in service, we contribute to facilitating the work of the city's operations. As an economist with us, you work for the entire administration, with a focus on one of our operational departments. The role is both operationally close and development-oriented. Your job responsibilities include, among other things: working with budget, forecast, and closing account processes supporting, training, and guiding managers in ongoing economic follow-up work compiling, documenting, quality-assuring, and analyzing budgets and forecasts quality-assuring accounting developing and improving economic follow-up to provide the best possible decision-making foundation for operations collaborating and exchanging knowledge with other economists and controllers within the administration participating in joint development projects within the administration and the City of Malmö Qualifications To be relevant for the position, you have a higher education degree of at least 180 higher education credits with an economic focus or other education and experience deemed equivalent. You preferably have experience with similar job responsibilities. You have good accounting knowledge and experience with follow-up and analysis work in close collaboration with operations. It is meritorious if you have worked as an economist in a larger, politically governed organization. You have good knowledge of Office 365 and very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. Experience with Raindance and Qlik Sense is meritorious, as is interest in and willingness to learn about new IT tools in the economics field. As a person, you are social and find it easy to create contacts within the organization. You are curious, development-oriented, and take great personal responsibility for your job responsibilities. You are structured, have good prioritization skills, and are pedagogical in your consultative role. You enjoy collaborating with others, are clear in your communication, and see new challenges as an opportunity to develop. About the Workplace The Service Administration's Economics Department consists of approximately 20 economists and controllers who together work to support the administration's departments in economic matters and develop our methods. We are an engaged and unpretentious group characterized by good atmosphere, collegiality, and collaboration with a focus on our common mission. Our workplace is located in central Malmö. The Service Administration is divided into five departments and offers everything from transportation services to IT and answering citizens at the City of Malmö's contact center. We maintain streets, parks, green spaces, and beaches, manage all of the City of Malmö's buildings, and ensure that our schoolchildren receive good and nutritious food. The administration has a turnover of approximately 4 billion and has approximately 1,900 employees. Together, we are a smart service partner to the city.
