What we are looking for
We are looking for you who want to develop our activities with children and students' comprehensive development in focus. As a school counselor, you are visible on the floor where the students are and feel equally comfortable meeting younger students in preschool class as older ones in grade 6. You contribute to a health-promoting environment and enjoy working close to children, staff and guardians.
In preventive and health-promoting work, you are proactive at group and organizational level. You take your own initiatives for targeted values-based work in the classrooms and develop the school's procedures to meet students' needs early, before any problems escalate.
In intervention work, you have high assessment competence and act as an effective initiator and support in, for example, school social, absence and harassment investigations. You compile and analyze the investigations to reach common conclusions in dialogue with management, but above all, you have the ability to implement broad and targeted interventions when needed.
In your role, you work strategically and in a skill-developing manner together with school management to enhance educators' abilities within the psychosocial field (e.g. conflict management and difficult conversations). As a supportive expert, you make accurate assessments of when you yourself need to step in operationally, and when it is best for you to coach and equip educators to act themselves.
As a person, you are enterprising and take ownership of your matters all the way through. You secure the process through close, communicative and systematic feedback to student, home as well as to staff and management so that nothing falls through the cracks. You have good analytical skills, use digital tools to gain overview and have the ability to prioritize your work time efficiently in a dynamic environment.
We are looking for you who
Are a social worker, behavioral scientist or have another academic degree that we consider equivalent, and have experience from school and/or social services.
Are structured, action-oriented, relationship-building, solution-focused and independent.
Have extensive experience independently managing and following up assessment work related to the school counselor's assignment.
Have a broad and development-adapted toolkit for both intervention and preventive work with children aged F–6.
Feel confident in coaching, consulting and supporting staff in, for example, difficult conversations or notifications of concern.
Have a good ability to create good professional relationships with children, students, guardians and staff.

The position is a permanent employment, 6 months probation.
