Duties/Assignments As an environmental inspector, you will primarily work with supervisory tasks within the scope of the Environmental Code. Your work tasks involve planning, conducting, and following up inspections as well as handling applications and notification cases. The work involves extensive contact with both businesses and private individuals. Since our operations cover many different areas, you will work broadly across multiple areas. We distribute work tasks in groups with several areas within each group. There are opportunities for development and specialization within different subject areas, and we try to distribute tasks based on employees' different interests and competencies. The organization requires flexibility, which means that work tasks may change over time. The work is varied and involves both independent responsibility and close collaboration with colleagues and other stakeholders. As an environmental inspector, you will conduct supervisory visits, handle supervisory cases, and incoming permit applications. Part of the work will also consist of providing advice to relevant stakeholders. Participation in quality work is also included in the position, such as developing and refining supervisory methods and working procedures, preparing information materials, establishing routines, templates, etc. Supervisory areas and work tasks will be included based on operational needs and/or resource allocation. As an environmental inspector, you perform supervision according to the Environmental Code and other relevant legislation in order to create a sustainable society. Your assignment includes setting requirements and making decisions in your role as a public authority representative. Qualifications We are looking for someone who has a degree in environmental and health protection inspection or work experience that the employer deems equivalent. It is meritious to have experience and competence in supervising agriculture, environmentally hazardous activities, health protection, sewage, and contaminated land. Other meritious qualities are: Experience with the case management system Castor. Experience with Lex. Knowledge regarding sewage and health protection. Knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar programs. Knowledge of the Municipal Act, environmental law, and administrative law.
