From the heart of Gothenburg, Svenska Mässan Gothia Towers offers everything from major trade shows and events to unforgettable hotel and restaurant experiences. Our operations encompass many strong brands that together create a unique and attractive meeting place where we welcome nearly two million visitors each year. As an employee with us, you work alongside a large, engaged, and conscientious team and help develop our business, both now and in the future.
You already work with facilities management today – but you know it can be done better. You see where time is wasted, where energy isn't optimized, and where systems aren't being used to their full potential. You have ideas but don't always get the right conditions to implement them.
This new role as Facilities Technician / Digital Development Lead was created specifically to take the next step in how we approach facilities management. With us, you don't just manage operations – you get to shape how facilities work should actually function going forward.
What the role is really about
This is not a traditional operations role; you combine:
Operational management in a technically complex facility
Energy monitoring and analysis
Development of work methods, systems, and digital tools
An informal leadership role within the team
You serve as a bridge between operations, coordination, and management – with a clear mandate to improve how we work. You report to the Facilities Department with the Facilities Manager as your direct supervisor.
What you'll actually do
In your daily work, this means you:
Conduct troubleshooting and optimize operations in complex systems
Identify discrepancies in energy data and translate them into action
Develop and improve our digital tools, AI agents, and work methods
Ensure quality in data collection, monitoring, and reporting
Support and coach colleagues on how to use our digital systems in practice
Provide technical support in investments and development decisions
In short: you impact both today's operations and future development.
Why this role exists
We're at a turning point where we need someone who can drive this development in practice, not just in theory:
More data-driven operations
Increased focus on energy efficiency
Greater demands for digital structure
AI is becoming a real tool – not just an idea
Who you are
You're not new to facilities management. You have the education, experience, and intuition needed to understand a facility as a whole. With post-secondary education in building technology (or equivalent background) and a valid driver's license, you can, among other things, see the big picture of a facility, understand the consequences of technical decisions, and prioritize correctly in your daily work.
But what sets you apart:
You question work methods – and improve them
You see potential in data, systems, and digitalization
You're comfortable taking initiative without clear guidelines
You bring others along, even in times of change
You don't need to know everything about digitalization, AI, or systems – but you should be willing to use them in practice.
What you get with us
A role with real impact – not just responsibility on paper
A complex facility where technology, operations, and business meet
The mandate to develop work methods and structure
Breadth in your assignment: operations, energy, digitalization
Colleagues who understand operations – and need someone to drive the next step
This is not a "pure development role" – you'll work operationally in the facility where you need to handle both acute problems and long-term improvements.
