Job Responsibilities
As an HVAC Operations Technician, you will perform inspection and maintenance, repairs, and new installation of heating, ventilation, and sanitation systems. In your role, you will also carry out smaller assignments in this field. This work occurs in collaboration with colleagues in the department and with customers. Examples of job responsibilities in the role are as follows.
Install and repair pipes, fittings, and other HVAC equipment
Diagnose HVAC problems and identify appropriate repair solutions
Inspection and repair of water heaters and other hot water systems
Troubleshooting problems with sewage and sewage lines
Replacement of fittings and valves
Replacement of expansion tanks
Install and repair heat pumps
Install and replace radiators
Maintenance, repair, and service of piping systems
Minor adjustments in heating or hot water systems
Prepare documentation for work orders based on your delegation. In consultation with the unit manager, you will also perform follow-up inspections on commissioned work and handle invoices.
Inspection of facilities for legionella
As an HVAC Operations Technician, you will be part of our Operations & Technology department with approximately 30 employees who work together to carry out our mission. Within the department there are operations technicians, HVAC engineers, electricians, control engineers, and others who work with heating and ventilation. The unit is tasked with performing inspection, maintenance, repairs, customer assignments, and minor maintenance work in Gothenburg City's sports facilities and other properties, with a focus on HVAC and with a strong emphasis on operations and energy efficiency to achieve the city's energy goals.
Results are achieved through close collaboration with customers, other departments in the administration, and other organizations in the city. The department is also responsible for carrying out inspections required by authorities. We perform the assignments ordered by our customers.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who can work independently within your field and at the same time understands the importance of collaborating with both colleagues and customers. The position also requires the ability to be flexible when work demands it. For this position, we are looking for someone with the following competencies:
Secondary education in HVAC or equivalent training
Certificate for HVAC installer
Worked several years as a service plumber and can work independently in the field
Experience reading technical drawings
Experience working with regulatory requirements
Experience working with DUC control systems
