Operations and Maintenance Technician

WORK TASKS As an operations and maintenance technician in the Water and Wastewater department, you perform one of the most important jobs that exists by keeping our drinking water and wastewater treatment facilities running. A large part of the work involves addressing various fault reports as well as emergency repairs, ongoing maintenance, and manufacturing. As an operations and maintenance technician, you are assigned specific areas of responsibility such as LTA, other pumps, or manufacturing/renovation. This means a fixed placement within an area, but also close collaboration with other areas. You generally work together with other technicians within your area, but the work also requires independent work where you plan execution and procurement yourself. As an operations and maintenance technician, you work in all of our facilities such as water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, and water towers. On-call duty is included in the position. QUALIFICATIONS Class B Driver's License Class B driver's license is required. Water and Wastewater Previous experience working with water and wastewater is a merit. Welding and Manufacturing Experience in manufacturing and welding is a merit. Pumps Pumps are a major part of the work and naturally it is a merit to have experience with them. Electrical Experience working with electrical systems is a merit. Shop Work Common shop work such as welding, turning, and construction.
