The Section's Mission Within special sections at the Swedish Public Employment Service, there are specialists for job seekers with disabilities in vision, deaf, and hearing. The specialists are audiologists, deaf consultants, and vision specialists. Region East is now seeking a deaf consultant to be based in Linköping or Norrköping. Job Description The deaf consultant's role at the Swedish Public Employment Service focuses on assessing deaf job seekers' capabilities for work or education and adapting work/study positions, both technically and psychosocially. As part of the assignment, you as a deaf consultant actively participate in labor market policy assessments, which means clarifying the individual's abilities, competencies, and capabilities. In all contacts with job seekers, we maintain a supportive and guiding approach. You contribute to developing the job seeker's knowledge of their capabilities and strengthen motivation and orientation toward work. This happens through conversations in which you assess communication capabilities and any support needs. The work requires active cooperation both internally and externally. Collaboration with other government agencies, rehabilitation actors, education providers, and employers is common in the deaf consultant's work. Documentation is an important and recurring part of the work tasks. The Swedish Public Employment Service places great emphasis on digital development and it permeates all aspects of our work. Therefore, it is crucial that you have both the willingness and ability to use digital tools. Travel is a natural part of the position and occurs frequently. You should also be prepared that travel may involve overnight stays in other locations. Basic Requirements for the Position University education of 180 credits (120 points according to the old system) or current experience working as an employment consultant Full communication proficiency in Swedish Sign Language Very extensive experience working with deaf individuals and very good knowledge of their conditions Category B driver's license Additional Merits for the Position Experience working with individuals who have various disabilities, preferably within work-oriented rehabilitation Experience assessing capabilities for work for deaf job seekers Good experience with collaboration The state's core values guide us in our daily work.
